The brief

Očisti is an MFB Solutions product, not client work. We did the idea, design, copy, web app and mobile app ourselves.

The problem has two ends. Anyone looking for a cleaning service runs into listings without prices and phone numbers nobody answers. Anyone running a cleaning service often keeps bookings in a notebook or in text messages and loses work because they did not get around to replying. We wanted one product that solves both.

The approach

For customers we built a search tool: pick a city or your current location and a service type, compare services by price, distance and rating, and book a slot. Booking works without an account, and we only ask for a name, contact details and address once the customer actually books.

For cleaning services we built a digital office: a calendar per crew or machine, bookings from the marketplace alongside ones the service enters itself, automatic reminders, a price list and a job log. The key decision was that the profile a service maintains as its working tool is also its listing in search. There is no second place holding the same data, which keeps prices accurate, because the service relies on them for its daily work.

We paid particular attention to trust. Only registered businesses with a verified Croatian tax number (OIB) are accepted. A review can only come from a customer who completed a booking, one booking allows at most one review, and a service can reply to a review but cannot hide it. The ranking rules are published on a page of their own: there are no paid positions, and sorting by rating uses a Bayesian average, so a service with a single five-star review does not jump ahead of one with many good ratings.

Money for the service never passes through the platform. Customer and service agree and pay directly, and the platform only charges services a subscription, with no commission per job.

What we delivered

  • Search by city, location and service type, sortable by distance, price and rating
  • Thirteen service types, from regular home and holiday rental cleaning to post-construction cleanup, solar panel washing and equipment rental
  • Separate pages for 44 cities and a page for every service category
  • A public profile for each service with its price list and reviews
  • A digital office for services: calendar, crews and machines, bookings, reminders, job log, inventory and analytics
  • Booking without an account, and a bookings overview for signed-in customers
  • iPhone and Android apps, published on the App Store and Google Play
  • Croatian and English versions of the interface
  • A page explaining how ranking works, in line with the EU regulation on transparency for online platforms (P2B)
  • Structured data for search, including site search and FAQs

Technology

The web app is built with Next.js, with the database and sign-in running on Supabase. It can also be installed straight from the browser, supports push notifications and the user’s location, and service subscriptions run through Stripe. The mobile apps package the same code as the web app, so there is no separate build that drifts away from the platform over time.

The outcome

The platform is live at ocisti.hr, and the app is available in both app stores. A customer can find a service in their city, see real prices and book a slot, while a service gets a working tool and visibility in search in the same product.
